Obstacles to Kuwaiti Women’s Participation in the Development Process in Light of Kuwait Vision 2035.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the challenges and obstacles facing Kuwaiti women’s participation in the development process in light of Kuwait Vision 2035, then develop a set of proposals to confront the obstacles facing Kuwaiti women’s participation in the development process in light of Kuwait Vision 2035. The research used a social survey approach. The research sample consisted of (2875) women who were selected through a non-random quota sample in the State of Kuwait, the results of the research concluded that there are social, economic, political and personal obstacles to the participation of Kuwaiti women in the development process. The research recommended the need to provide adequate support by the state to encourage women to participate in all fields, and that institutions, whether in the government sector or the private sector, work to provide support services for women to raise their level. Work must also be done to activate the role of women in various fields, the most important of which are: political and economic, and increasing women’s participation in leadership positions.
