In the context of competition in the international labor market, financial translators can still find their place, as there are fewer qualified translators in this field than in other fields, given the difficulties associated with this translation task. Based on this observation, we have proposed a distance self-training module in financial translation offering students authentic texts while using translation aid tools. The aim of this module is to assess the extent to which these tools could enhance the skills of translators in the field of finance according to Gouadec's translation strategy (comprehension-transfer-textual reconstruction).
The results of the test conducted with fifteen young translators were collected via a questionnaire. Most of them were confronted with this type of text (business plan and financial statement) for the first time. The test showed that it is possible to self-train in financial translation from a distance, but that certain conditions must be met: the translator must have translation and IT skills, a critical mind and a good command of IT tools.
