This research paper approaches the significant role and efforts made by some Ptolemaic kings to obtain their needs for African elephants and the main reason for their pursuit of them. It also aims to clarify the challenges faced by the Ptolemaic kings and the substantial costs they spent, from wages for hundreds of men sent to hunt them, to building specialized ships to transport these animals, to constructing bases, ports, stations, and cities, to bringing trainers to tame and train them, and to train other trainers. It also includes using them in the most important battles and celebrations. And their depiction on various coins.
